Brussels sprouts. Development of a warning system for Brussels sprouts

Brussels sprouts. Development of a warning system for Brussels sprouts

Proeftuinnieuws 8(7): 32-34

Results are presented of field studies carried out during 1994-97 in Belgium to evaluate warning systems for adequate chemical control of cabbage root fly and cabbage moths (Plutella xylostella and Mamestra brassicae) in Brussels sprouts. The development of insect pests was monitored and chemical control was carried out at certain developmental stages (guided control plots). In 1994, the average number of insecticide treatments was 4.3 in standard-treated plots and 2.3 in guided control plots.
