Studies were carried out during 1996-97 in Belgium to compare plant densities of 35x70, 40x70 and 45x70 cm (40 800, 35 714 and 31 746 plants/ha, respectively) in Brussels sprouts (cultivars Ajax, Lauris, Louis and Romulus). Plants were sown on 27 March, and planted out on 10 May 1996 and 15 May 1997. Mechanical harvesting was on 15 November 1996 and 15 December 1997.
