Characterisation, classification and management needs of some soils of Indo-Gangetic alluvium plains in Meerut district of U. P

A detailed soil survey was conducted in ICAR farms of PDCSR, CPRS and Siwaya village in the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Soils were characterized, classified and evaluated for their productivity potentials. On the basis of characteristics, four different soils were identified and and evaluated into land capability classes I and II and sub-classes IIws, IIw and IIIw and land irrigability class 1 and sub-classes 2d and 3d.
