Comparative energy value of eleven feedstuffs in growing pigs and adult sows

Fifteen diets were prepared to calculate digestibility coefficients of energy and nutrients and DE and ME values of 11 ingredients (wheat, 2 barleys, maize, peas, soybean meal, maize gluten feed, Corex M100Reg., wheat bran, sugarbeet pulp and soyabean oil) using the difference method. Each diet was fed to 62-kg growing pigs and 220-kg adult sows. Digestibility coefficients for energy, organic matter, CP and cell wall fractions were significantly higher for all feedstuffs in sows.
