Oilseed rape Leo was grown at 80 or 160 plants/msuperscript 2 and given 80 kg N + 45 kg P2O5 + 80 kg K2O or twice this rate in trials at SGGW, Warsaw, Poland, in 1995. Decapitation of the top inflorescence simulating insect damage increased the content of glucosinolates and decreased the content of erucic acid in seeds. Increasing the fertilizer level decreased seed oil content and increased the percentage of erucic acid and glucosinolates in the oil.
