Crop productivity and sustainable development in China

Journal of Crop Production 1(1): 301-308

Data are given for total grain production and yield trends in China, and ways to increase grain production are outlined. Development of China's grasslands to increase meat production and the production of wine instead of grain-based alcoholic beverages are suggested as ways of reducing demand on grain for non-food purposes.
