Detection of apple chlorotic leaf spot virus and apple stem grooving virus by dot-immunobinding assay

A total of 3000 samples were collected from 72 apple cultivars, 10 stocks and 6 indicator plants infected with viruses. From the samples apple chlorotic leafspot trichovirus (ACLSV) and apple stem grooving capillovirus (ASGV) were detected by dot-immunobinding assay (DIBA). The DIBA was modified to make it simple, rapid and applicable for the detection of ACLSV and ASGV. The test was simple, rapid (5 h), and consistent throughout the growing period. It was also economical and convenient.
