Determination of macronutrient contents in leaves, cuttings, fruits and seeds of carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.)

During 1992-93, the contents of N, P, K, Mg and Ca varied significantly in different parts of carob trees grown in Turkey. Variation was due to year, season and the physiological stages of the plant parts. In leaves, N contents were 1.58-1.76%, and were stable during January-April. Generally leaf P varied between 0.06 and 0.12%, and was stable during August-December and April-June.
