Development of Trybliographa rapae, a larval parasitoid of the cabbage root fly Delia radicum

Development of Trybliographa rapae, a larval parasitoid of the cabbage root fly Delia radicum

Bulletin OILB/SROP 19(11): 156-161

The eucoilid Trybliographa rapae is a larval parasitoid of the cabbage root fly, the anthomyiid Delia radicum. A study of the immature stages of this parasitoid was conducted in the laboratory at 20 +or- 1 degrees C, 60 +or- 10% RH, and LD 16:8 to determine the duration of each larval instar. Eggs of the parasitoid were oviposited in 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-instar larvae of D. radicum. The egg of T. rapae was ovoid, about 0.8 mm long and possessed a stalk. Embryogenesis took about 5 days.
