During 1995, trials were conducted in Lithuania to investigate reducing fungicide inputs in winter wheat production using the decision support system (DSS). Reduced doses and fungicide combinations recommended by DSS gave good disease control in the sensitive cultivar Sirvinta 1. With reduced rates, the increases in yield were as high as 1.45 t/ha compared with untreated controls, although yields were not significantly different from plants treated with conventional rates.
