Direct and maternal genetic effects on grain quality characters in early hybrid rice



Chinese Journal of Rice Science 12(2): 79-84



Genetic studies were conducted for 7 grain quality characters using genetic models with genotype x environment interactions for seed traits in early hybrid rice. Genetic variations of the percentage of brown rice, milled rice recovery, grain length and alkali digestion value (ADV) were mainly attributable to maternal additive and direct additive effects, with maternal additive effects predominating for the former 3 characters, and direct additive effects for ADV.
