Direct and residual effect of FYM, phosphorus and zinc on major nutrients availability in wheat-pearl millet cropping sequence

Incorporation of FYM @ 15 t ha-1 had significantly increased the available NPK in the soils except available potassium after the harvest of residual pearl millet. Available phosphorus in the soils after the harvest of wheat crop at P0, P10), P20 and P30 was 13.5, 16.5, 20.2 and 23.1 kg P ha-1, respectively. Respective values after the harvest of pearl millet were 11.7, 13.5, 15.8 and 18.2 kg P ha-1. Application of zinc had nonsignificant effect on available potassium in the soils after the harvest of direct and residual crops. The available P in the soils after the wheat decreased significantly with increase in the levels of Zn from 0 to 10 kg Zn ha-1. Available phosphorus in the soils was significantly influenced by FYM X P and P X Zn interactions.
