Effect of cane trash management on soil-moisture conservation, soil fertility and yield of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum)

In a field experiment in Andhra Pradesh, mulching 3 t/ha of cane trash produced significantly higher sugar cane yield than with no mulch (81.59 vs. 77.40 t/ha). Mulching with cane trash improved moisture conservation.
