Effect of coating chitosan on storage of apple

Plant Physiology Communications 34(1): 17-19

Experiment was conducted to study the effect of coating apple Rall's Janet fruits with chitosan (1% for 30 s) on quality following storage for 5 months (3-20 degrees C, RH 56-80%). After storage in the control, 10% of fruits were of good quality, and in the chitosan treatment, 98% of fruits were of good quality.
