Net CO2 assimilation simulated by a biochemical model was compared with measured data from an experiment with winter wheat Emma grown at 350 or 700 ppm CO2. The CO2 assimilation rate of plants grown at high CO2 increased almost linearly until Ci (intercellular CO2 concentration) reached 500 ppm, while for higher values of Ci the CO2 assimilation rate remained constant for both ambient and elevated CO2 plants.
