In a field experiment in 1991-92 in Egypt, cotton Giza 83 was sown on 26 March or 20 April at hill spacings of 20, 25 or 30 cm and given 45, 65 or 85 kg N/feddan. Sowing on 26 March at the hill spacing of 20 cm with 85 kg N produced the highest seed cotton yields of 9.75 and 8.17 kentar/feddan in 1991 and 1992, respectively.
