A field experiment was conducted at Kota, Rajasthan, India, during the 1993-94 to 1995-96 growing seasons to assess the effect of different mulches (no mulch, dust mulch, stover in situ mulch and dust mulch + stover mulch) on soil (Typic Chromusterts, Vertisols) moisture and yield of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) + pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) intercropping.
