In a field experiment during the rainy seasons of 1993 and 1994 at Bajaura, Himachal Pradesh, India, maize Early Composite grown for baby corn was given 0, 50, 100, 150 or 200 kg N/ha and was grown at spacings of 40 or 60 cm x 10 or 20 cm. Baby corn yield increased significantly with increasing N rate up to a plateau at 150 kg/ha, while cob and green fodder yields increased significantly up to 200 kg N/ha.
