In field experiments during 1992-95 in Calicut, Kerala, India, 4 turmeric cultivars (Suvarna, Suguna, Sudarshana and Alleppey) were supplied with organic fertilizers (FYM, neem cake, cotton cake, brassica cake, groundnut cake or gingily cake at rates equivalent to 60 kg N/ha, and recommended P as single superphosphate and K as potassium chloride at rates of 50:120 kg/ha) or NPK fertilizer at 60:50:120 kg/ha.
