Effect of plant growth regulators on embryogenic callus formation and growth in vitro of grain sorghum

Immature zygotic embryos of sorghum SA281, M35-1, TAM422 and QL41 were cultured on media without cytokinins or with kinetin, benzylaminopurine or zeatin at 0.05 or 0.5 mg/litre. Cytokinins reduced the capacity of all genotypes for initiating embryogenic callus, especially the higher rate of kinetin and zeatin.
