Effect of potassium levels and organic amendments on growth and yield of rainfed direct seeded summer rice

A field experiment was conducted at the Instructional-cum-Research farm of the Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, India during the summer seasons of 1994 and 1995, to study the effect of levels of potassium and sources of organic matter on rainfed directly seeded summer rice. Five levels of potassium, ie, 0 (control), 20, 40, 60 and 80 kg K2O/ha were tested along with three sources of organic matter, ie, farmyard manure, biogas slurry and rice straw each applied at 5 t/ha (dry weight).
