Effect of short-term thermal stress in early growth period on broiler chicken performance

The effect of short-term thermal stress at 2, 7 and 21 days of age, connected with a 1-h lowering of temperature, on performance, physiological parameters and carcass quality of 49-day-old broiler chickens was studied. Chickens exposed to triple thermal stress had higher body weights by 23 g and better carcass quality, compared with control chickens, but at the cost of higher feed intake by 20 g.
