Effect of sowing date, irrigation and spacing on nutrient content and uptake by groundnut (Arachis hypogaea)

The effects of sowing date, irrigation and spacing on nutrient uptake by groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) JL 24 were investigated on sandy loam soil at Kalyani, West Bengal, India during the summer season of 1993 and 1994. The concentration of N, P and K in plant shoots decreased steadily during reproductive development. Sowing on 15 February gave higher nutrient uptake and seed yield than earlier or later sowings.
