Effect of spacing and nitrogen levels on nutrient uptake and yield of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) cv. Amalapuram

An experiment was conducted during 1994-95 to study the effects of spacing and N rates on tissue composition, nutrient uptake and yield of C. longa in Karnataka India. The N, P and K contents of different plant parts were significantly influenced by spacing and N rates. Medium spacing (45 x 22.5 cm) with highest dose of N (200 kg/ha) recorded the highest N and K contents of plant parts. P content was highest in the combination of closer spacing (45 x 15 cm) and highest N dose.
