Abstract
An experiment was conducted at Bagwai (Gwalior), Madhya Pradesh during rabi 1987/88 and 1988/89 to study the effect of 0-375 kg N/ha on juice quality in 3 sugarcane cultivars. Cv. COLK-8001 recorded significantly higher pol reading, sucrose %, recovery % and CCS than cv. Co. 6304. Increasing N rate up to 225 kg/ha significantly increased the CCS yield, while higher levels gave a decrease. Increasing N rate decreased sucrose content of cane juice.
