The effects of varying levels of dietary ascorbic acid (AA) supplementation on laying performance, egg shell quality and immune response of laying hens were investigated under high ambient temperature in a 6-week trial during the hot season (August to September) in Taiwan. 120 White Leghorn hens (26 weeks old) were assigned to basal diets supplemented with AA 0, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg/kg, respectively.
