Effects of different moisture potentials on seed germination and seedling growth of six wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)



Iranian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 27(2): 59-66



Seed germination and seedling growth of small and large seeds of wheat cultivars Rowshan, Ghods, Javenjani, Tabasi, Kal-Heidari and Crossing block 39 were studied at osmotic potentials of 0, -0.4 and -1 MPa and temperatures of 10 and 15 degrees C. The cultivars differed in their germination characteristics. The time required for germination increased for each decrease in osmotic potential.
