Efficacy of different sources of phosphatic fertilizers and FYM in niger under red-acidic soil

In a field experiment during the rainy season of 1993 in Semiliguda, Orissa, India, niger (Guizotia abyssinica) Deomali was given 40 kg P/ha applied all as single superphosphate (SSP) or Mussoorie rock phosphate (MRP), or in 25:75, 50:50 or 75:25 ratios, with or without 1 t farmyard manure (FYM)/ha. Number of primary branches and capitula per plant, 1000-seed weight and seed yield were highest with 100% SSP + FYM followed by 75% SSP + 25% MRP + FYM and 50% SSP + 50% MRP + FYM.
