Evaluation of eucalyptus leaf extracts as repellent for adult Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Col.: Curculionidae) and attractant for Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) (Col.: Bruchidae)

Leaf extracts were obtained from dried and powdered Eucalyptus tereticornis leaves using n-hexane, acetone, ethanol and methanol. The extracts were tested for their effects on adults of Sitophilus oryzae and Callosobruchus chinensis. S. oryzae was repelled and C. chinensis was attracted by all the extracts.
