Fattening veal calf using milk replacer and milk replacer with concentrate

Fattening veal calf using milk replacer and milk replacer with concentrate

Kaen Kaset = Khon Kaen Agriculture Journal 23(3): 116-120

Twelve male dairy cattle (1-3 weeks old) were divided into 2 groups and fed on milk substitute or milk substitute plus concentrate diets (18% CP and 70% total digestible nutrients) for 120 days. Average final weight of calves was 80-90 kg, with a daily weight gain of 400 g. Veal calf fed on concentrate diet plus milk substitute had lower feed costs (2500 baht/head) compared with those fed on milk substitute alone.
