Field slugs and snails

Field slugs and snails

Kartoffelbau 49(9/10): 158-160, 162-163

Wet conditions in 1998 resulted in many problems with slugs and snails (including Deroceras reticulatum) in northern Germany. Damage to seeds resulted in low emergence rates. Preventive measures include early sowing, increased sowing rates, soil cultivation and liming.
