Genetic and taxonomic relationships between Pinus pithyusa, Pinus stankewiczii, and Pinus brutia

Genetic and taxonomic relationships between Pinus pithyusa, Pinus stankewiczii, and Pinus brutia

Doklady, Biological Sciences 359(1/6): 166-169

ISSN/ISBN: 0012-4966

To estimate genetic differentiation between the species P. pithyusa P. stankewiczii (P. pityusa var. stankewiczii) and P. brutia, populations from the Crimean and north Caucasus Black Sea coasts were analysed for 24 alloenzyme loci. Seed material was obtained from 2 natural P. pithyusa populations near the towns of Pitsunda and Sochi in the north Caucasus and 3 natural populations of P. stankewiczii from around Novyi Svet in the Crimea.
