Histopathological and lipid changes in experimental colon cancer: effect of coconut kernal (Cocos nucifera Linn.) and (Capsicum annum Linn.) red chilli powder

Male Wistar rats (n=20 per group) were divided into 9 groups: standard diet only; high fat diet (20% groundnut oil) only; diet containing 30% fresh coconut kernel; standard diet and 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH) 20 mg/kg body weight; diet containing red chilli powder 8 mg/100 g body weight daily; red chilli powder and DMH; fresh coconut kernel and red chilli powder; fresh coconut kernel and red chilli powder; and fresh coconut kernel and red chilli powder and DMH.
