In field trials on leached chernozem soil in 1976-96, sugarbeet comprised 30% of a 10-course rotation and was given no fertilizer or combinations of 40-160 kg N + 50-200 kg P2O5 + 50-200 kg K2O with 20 or 40 t farmyard manure (FYM)/ha in the 1st rotation cycle and 30 t FYM/ha in the 2nd cycle.
