How to ensure yield of ecologically pure produce

In a long-term field trial on leached chernozem soil in the forest steppe region of the central chernozem zone, sugarbeet was grown after winter wheat in a 9-course rotation and was given combinations of 45-190 kg N + 60-190 kg P2O5 + 45-190 kg K2O/ha, or the lowest NPK rate with farmyard manure. Changes in soil N, P and K contents and physical and microbiological properties after 60 years are discussed and data are given on soil Zn, Cd, Fe, Mn, Pb and Cu contents.
