Genetic variation of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers was studied in primary plants of bahiagrass regenerated from an embryogenic suspension culture. RAPD markers did not reveal any preexisting polymorphisms in control plant seedlings. However, in 3 out of 28 regenerants variation for at least one of the RAPD markers was found.
