Incidence of bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia (Pseudomonas) solanacearum in solanaceous crops of Southern NWFP

Incidence of bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia (Pseudomonas) solanacearum in solanaceous crops of Southern NWFP

Sarhad Journal of Agriculture 15(1): 51-53

During a recent survey of chillies tomato and eggplant in the southern NWFP of Pakistan, the presence of bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum has been confirmed on the basis of both field observations and laboratory studies. It is further observed that this pathogen alone or in combination with fungal pathogens like Phytophthora spp. is causing high losses of vegetable production in the region.
