Induction of quantitative variation for metric traits in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czern and Coss.) through mutations

Induction of quantitative variation for metric traits in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czern and Coss.) through mutations

Annals of Biology Ludhiana 15(2): 177-179

Variability was created for the metric traits such as plant height, main shoot length, secondary branches, siliquae on main shoot, siliquae per plant, siliqua length, 1000-seed weight, oil content and seed yield. Ethyl methylsulfonate (EMS) was more effective than gamma -rays for induction of viable mutations for various traits.
