Influence of different production technology on growth and yield of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes

In a field trial conducted during summer 1995 on alfisols of Bangalore, Karnataka, pod yield averaged 3.98 t/ha in TMV-2 and 3.05 t in JL-24. TMV-2 also recorded higher haulm yield (4.73 t/ha) and oil yield (1.35 t/ha). Sowing in ridges and furrows gave 12.28% higher yield (3.75 t/ha) than in furrows alone (3.34 t/ha) and also recorded more filled pods per plant (27.80) and a higher harvest index. Straw mulch gave higher pod yield (3.59 t/ha) than no mulch (3.44 t/ha).
