Influence of migration of honeybee from foreign population on some characteristics of the Carniolan honeybee (Apis mellifera carnica Polm.) in Slovenia

Agriculture and environment, proceedings, Bled, Slovenia, 12-13 March 1998: 465-470
Influence of migration of honeybee from foreign population on some characteristics of the Carniolan honeybee (Apis mellifera carnica Polm.) in Slovenia
The Carniolan honeybee as an autochthonous honeybee race is well adapted to the local environment. Forced introduction of new genes from another honeybee population could change maternal properties of colonies, which could result in disturbance of annual colony life.
