Inheritance of resistance to apple scab (Venturia inaequalis) in progenies of scab resistant cv. 'Florina' and 'Freedom'

Progenies of crosses of 2 scab resistant apple cultivars (Florina and Freedom) with 6 susceptible cultivars (Jonathan M41, Granny Smith, Fuji, Meran, Braeburn and Idared) were inoculated with Venturia inaequalis at approximately 3 and 5 weeks after sowing in glasshouses in Hungary in 1995. Seedlings were evaluated for resistance to apple scab on a scale of 0 (resistant) to 4 (susceptible) at 3 and 4 weeks after the first inoculation.
