Interaction of bulb size and spacing on seed yield and yield attributing trait of onion (Allium cepa L.) cv. 'Kalyanpur Round Red'

Three spacing combinations (30 x 15, 30 x 30 and 30 x 45 cm) and 3 bulb diameters (2.5-3.0, 3.0-4.0 and 4.0-5.0 cm) of onion, Kalyanpur Round Red, were tested in Uttar Pradesh, India, between 1992 and 1994. The greatest number of leaves per plant (60.87), highest number of scapes per plant (8.77) and highest seed yield per plant (7.79 g) were found in the treatment combining the widest spacing and largest bulb size.
