Involvement of zearalenone in short-day vernalization in winter wheat

Involvement of zearalenone in short-day vernalization in winter wheat

Acta Phytophysiologica Sinica 25(1): 66-72

Changes in endogenous zearalenone (ZEN) and abscisic acid (ABA) contents of Triticum aestivum Yanda 1817 were studied during vernalization under short-day (SD) induction. ZEN contents in the shoot apex and leaves increased, reached their maxima in the 3rd week, and then decreased, during SD induction. The ZEN content in shoot apices of plants increased again and plants could flower after being induced for 4 weeks under SD and then transferred to long days (LD).
