Macromycetes as indicators of environmental pollution by heavy metals

The content of Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn, Cd, Pb, Co and Ni was determined for 9 species of fruit bodies, soil and wood samples collected in the central areas of Vladivostok and Dalnegorsk (Primorsky krai). Coefficients of biological accumulation (Kb) were determined. All species seem to be microconcentrators or deconcentrators of Zn, Fe, Co, Ni and Pb. The Psathyrella candolleana (Fr.) Maire. (Kb = 118), Coprinus atramentarius (Bull: Fr.) Fr. (Kb = 214), C. comatus (Mull. in Fl. Dan.: Fr.) S. F. Gray (Kb = 11), Lepiota hystrix Moller et Lange (Kb = 9), Marasmius oreades (Fr.) Fr. (Kb = 4), Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.: Fr.) Kumm. (Kb = 86), Laccaria laccata (Fr.) Berk. et Br. (Kb = 15) were found to be macroconcentrators of Cd, but Armillariella mellea (Fr.) P. Karst. accumulated both Cd (Kb = 24) and Cu (Kb = 25). The studied species of mushrooms can be considered as indicators of the environment contamination by Cd. The A. mellea can be used for estimation of pollution by Cu.
