Management of damping-off disease in FCV tobacco nursery through organic amendments

In a field experiment in 1993/94 to 1005/96 at Shimoga, Karnataka, India, tobacco FCV Special was treated with neem cake, Pongamia cake, sugarcane pressmud rice husks, cattle urine, tank silt, wood ash or copper oxychloride to assess their effects on controlling damping-off disease caused by Pythium aphanidermatum. Seed germination was similar in all treatments, except those with Pongamia cake and copper oxychloride where germination was reduced.
