A case of generalized cutaneous leishmaniasis involving a male patient aged 50 years who was treated with meglumine antimonate (Glucantime) is reported from Brazil. The patient developed acute renal failure (ARF) due to acute tubular necrosis, followed by death after receiving a total of 53 ampoules of meglumine antimonate.
