Numerical modelling of steam injection in a vertical sand-filled column

Numerical modelling of steam injection in a vertical sand-filled column

Proceedings of theme C groundwater: an endangered resource 27th Congress of the International Association for Hydraulic Research, San Francisco, California, USA, 10-15 August 1997: 107-112

Thermally enhanced soil vapour extraction (TUBA) is a technique under development for the remediation of organic contaminants in the vadose zone. However, for the remediation of low volatile non aqueous phase liquids (NAPLs), this method is inefficient. The method also does not work for NAPL contaminated clay lenses because the air flows around the lens.
