A field experiment was conducted at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Kerala, India, during 1991-92, with ginger Rio-de-Janeiro. The shade levels used were zero (open), 25, 50 and 75%, and the fertilizer levels were 75, 100, 125 and 150% of the recommended dose (75 kg N, 50 kg P2O5 and 50 kg K2O/ha) for the Kerala Agricultural University.
