On the deployment of resistance genes of wheat against leaf rust in three wheat regions in China

The presence of 11 Lr genes for resistance to Puccinia recondita was confirmed in wheat cultivars from northeastern China; 7 Lr genes were found in cultivars in northern China; and 9 Lr genes in the Yangtze and Huai River region. Virulence gene analyses showed differences in the frequency of individual genes in the 3 regions.
