Wild populations of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) originating from 18 European countries were tested in a spaced plant nursery in Poland in two management regimes and compared with 4 standard cultivars. More than 21% of all tested ecotypes performed better than the best standard cultivar, Vigor. Four clusters were selected from a cluster analysis conducted for ecotypes that yielded equal to or better than Vigor.
